How To Check Phone Manufacturing Date Iphone

  • #1

Does anyone know how to tell the build date on the new iPhone's? In the past I've used the chipmunk site or the coconut ID. They would give the build week, neither seem to work with the new phones. Thanks

Unfortunately with the new serial format you can't. It's now a randomized Serial number and it's only 10 digit rather than 12 Digit.

Thanks for the info. I noticed it only had 10 digits, wonder why they switched that up?

Just head to analytics data and look for the date of the very first entry. This is the date the new iPhone was installed / fired up in factory for the first time. I think that's the easiest way for the new "randomized" devices.

Even easier: Go to settings / cellular data. Scroll down to the button that lets You reset the statistics. Below that is an entry which lists the last reset. This corresponds to the first analytics file named in my last post.

The date of the very first entry on mine is 09/29. My phone was delivered on 09/24.

Are we talking about the very first analytics file or the line below "reset statistics"?

"Reset statistics" is under settings => mobile data (I don't know the right translation, mine isn't set up as English).

Maybe the old analytics files get deleted once You do an update. Did You do one? I didn't and had those files...

I did update yesterday. That'll be a real bummer if it got deleted. Can you check again after you do the update?

Sorry, I returned my 13 Pro yesterday. So I can't check anymore. Or it was a flaw in the shipped iOS 15 version, which was a build before the final...

What if you use a Mac/PC app that finds that? For example CoconutBattery tells me the manufacture date of the iPhone and Battery separately (Device info and Battery info respectively).

I tried coconut id, it didn't recognize the number.
